To the editor: Although we were impatiently awaiting the police investigation on this devastating loss in our canopy of urban trees, a question must be asked: where was the security of the local hotel, the security details of the business improvement district or the police service already occupied in Los Angeles during this incident (“Vandals chainsaw paintings of dozens of trees across the city center,»April 20)? To the editor: It's sick. Trees take years to create a canopy. I am not convinced that the city can quickly replace these trees. A year ago, the flourishing tree of Jacaranda in the walk in front of our building was destroyed by a driver at the end of the evening. The driver moved away; The tree was no longer. We are still waiting for a replacement.
