Sources knowing the question had previously declared to Reuters that public information on the delivery of weapons systems to Ukraine should be reduced to achieving “strategic ambiguity” and preventing Russia from obtaining strategic advantages.
“Under my direction, the debate on arms deliveries, the caliber, the weapons systems and so on will be withdrawn from the public,” Merz told RTL / NTV radiudiffusers to Kyiv.
After the large -scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022, the German government initially pointed out of military aid to kyiv. Under pressure from parliamentarians and the media, he began to publish a update list of systems and goods provided.

“Germany will continue to extend its financial support. I count on you (…) to do the same with us,” said Merz, addressing other European leaders at a meeting in kyiv.
