The American Olympic sprinter Fred Kerley was arrested on Thursday for a battery of crimes after having pretended to hit a woman with a closed fist in a hotel before the Grand Chelem track this weekend in Miami.
Kerley, the reigning Olympic bronze medalist in the 100 -meter male dashboardwas sentenced to Broward County prison after pretending to meet the woman, who told the police that she was Kerley's ex-girlfriend at the hotel. According to a police report obtained on Friday by USA Today Sports, Kerley became aggressive and said that he “was going (explained) everyone here”.

“(The woman) then informed that Kerley strikes her once in the face, which makes her nose bleed,” said the police report.
USA Today Sports does not identify victims of alleged domestic violence without their permission.
The piece of the Grand Chelem confirmed in a press release that Kerley, who was to participate in the 100-meter dash on Saturday and the 200 meters Dash on Sunday, would no longer compete during the event of this weekend and refused again.
Richard L. Cooper, Kerley's lawyer, told USA Today Sports in an email that he was “convinced that the case lacks merit and will be rejected in a short time”.

“Fred is looking forward to coming back to the best: winning races and inspire millions of young athletes,” said Cooper.
Thursday's arrest came about four months after Kerley was arrested for injury against an agent of the police after a confrontation with the policeDuring which the 29 -year -old was fought on the ground, hit several times and then moderate with a paralyzing pistol. Kerley was then also accused of domestic battery in an unrelated case of 2024. He pleaded not guilty in both cases.
Kerley is one of the best known sprinters in the United States after winning Olympic medals at the 100 meters in each of the last two editions of the Summer Games. Originally a 400 -meter runner, Kerley went to the 100 before the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, where he won surprisingly. He then won the world title of the 100 meters in 2022, followed by the Olympic bronze in the event at the Paris Games last summer.
