The former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou published his first public comments following a motorcycle accident that led to the death of a teenager in her country of origin in Cameroon.
In a declaration published at TMZNgannou said that his “heart had been broken” by the incident, which would have taken place in the capital of Cameroon, Yaounde, the Easter weekend.
“From the start, I was alongside the family, offering the largest support, comfort and condolences during this period,” Ngannou said in the statement. “I met them in private to share their sorrow, and I will continue to stay with them at each stage of the process. I carry their pain with me, and my unwavering thoughts and supports remain with them when they face this heartbreaking loss.”

According to information, Ngannou led a motorcycle to the Yaounde omnisports district when he hit a 17 -year -old girl identified by information sources Like Ntsa Ntsama Brigitte Manuella.
The girl has suffered serious injuries in the accident. Ngannou transported her to Yaounde general hospital and paid for her medical treatment, but she later died from her injuries. The Cameroonian authorities would still have investigated the incident.
Ngannou was born and grew up in the Cameroonian city of Batié, before emigrating to Europe in the hope of becoming a professional boxer. Later, he took MMA while he lived in Paris and made his UFC debut in 2015. Ngannou won the UFC heavyweight title in 2021, before leaving the organization while being the champion following an extended contract dispute.
After leaving the UFC, Ngannou realized his dream of becoming a professional boxer, fighting the former truck champion Tyson Fury to a narrow defeat in 2023, then losing against another former anthony Joshua champion via the KO in the second round in 2024.
For a certain time, it was thought that Ngannou might not return to the fighting after the death of his 15 month old son, Kobe, in April 2024. But Ngannou made his debut in the PFL last October, winning his first MMA fight in almost three years and devoting the fight to the memory of his son.
