Fabian Edwards believes that whoever gets his hand up during the main PFL event on Saturday evening between him and the former winner of the Light Tournament, Impa Kasanganay, will dominate the average weight support.
However, at some point, he did not think that the fight was going to happen at all.

Having put on his body and his mind through the punishment of a combat camp, and with the cuisine of his mother of his mother being one of the best restaurants in the Caribbean cuisine in the Birmingham region, in England, one could imagine where his priorities could go to bed as soon as he was informed that the fight was gone.
“To be honest, this is what happened,” said Edwards, 32, from Orlando, Florida, the location of the Opens of the PFL tournament this weekend for medium weights and light weights.
“They told me 100% that the fight was deactivated, so immediately that I said to myself:” I am going down to my mother's shop “. Fortunately, it was just a meal, so I didn't do too much damage.

Like his older brother, the former UFC Welter weight champion Leon Edwards, the youngest of the famous Birmingham brothers transformed his life through mixed martial arts. Despite himself previously competed in the United States, whenever he asks for a new visa, a piece with the law of his adolescence has often hampered his entry into the United States

“It's boring for sure. I have been trying to go from all things for years and years now, it's just one of those things that come back to haunt me,” said Fabian. “I hope it will be the end now. I have already fought in the United States, so I didn't think it would be a problem. At least we have sorted it and the fight is still in progress.”
One of the marquee signatures for Bellator, some European fans were surprised to see the bookmakers having Edwards as an outsider +124 for his next confrontation. With Kasanganay who returns to the average weight, Edwards is confident that Kasanganay is in a brutal awakening.
“Maybe they sleep on me, but I only worry about the way I see it in my head,” said Edwards. “I know he was the winner of the tournament in 2023 at Light Heavyweight, but I really think that most light heavy guys are ***. Honestly, that's what I feel. I think he's going to face much harder guys.”
Despite his 205-pound assessment, he plans that the winner of the main event of this weekend will win the tournament.

“I think anyone winning the fight will win everything, I think everyone in the support will know that it is also a very high probability,” said Edwards. “This is why I wanted this fight. They had to listen to me because it is always the one I wanted.
“It really suits me. He reaches and he always presents himself. Someone with this kind of style is always present to be knocked out, and I think I will take advantage of my opportunity when it happens. I'm just the clearer fighter. ”
The competitor of the title of Pérénne Bellator likes the activity that comes with the format of the tournament. To add to that, he holds victories in two of the other fighters in the support – Mike Shipman and Aaron Jeffery – who will only strengthen his confidence.

“To be honest, I wouldn't mind having a revenge match with some of these guys to completely put these situations in bed,” said Edwards. “I think Impa is the hardest guy in the tournament, so passing him through him will set the tone for everyone.”
While Edwards was used to fighting in front of the European vocal audience, he had the chance to have the atmosphere of the Universal Studios room during the recent victory of his teammate Jake Hadley in the Bantam weight medium.
He is satisfied with his current situation, but admits that dissatisfaction among some Bellator champions due to inactivity is worrying.
“I'm really happy with my situation right now, but seeing the champions complaining not to fight, I don't pretend that this is not,” said Edwards. “All I can do is hope they will sort everything they need to sort as soon as possible.”
