Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn fought two fights in the 1990s which fell into British boxing folklore. Eubank Sr. arrested Benn at his first meeting to win the WBO middle weight championship, and when the pair met for the second time, the verdict was a controversial draw.
More than 30 years since Eubank Sr. and the thrillers 12 towers from Benn, their sons, Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn, turn to Follow in the footsteps of their famous fathers and give British boxing another night that he will never forget When they compete in a closed stadium in Tottenham in London on Saturday.

Nigel has been firmly in the corner of his son since Eubank Jr. against Benn was made official, but Eubank Sr. was a vocal opponent of combat, citing the difference in weight between the two fighters as a substantial problem. Benn, a natural Welter weight, goes to the average weight limit of 160 pounds for the fight on Saturday, and a rehydration clause of 10 pounds is in place, which Eubank Sr. considers dangerous for his son.
Eubank Sr. also labeled the fight as a “boxing mockery” and views The eggs of Benn de Eubank Jr. as “shameful”.
“Listen, I must say – and I can agree with a lot of things that Senior says – but I thought it was shameful,” Eubank Jr., Ben Shalom, comments from Eubank Sr. said on Wednesday on Wednesday. “The Ariel Helwani Show from Non-Couronne”.
“I think Chris should be extremely proud of his son and what he achieved in his shadow, then continued.

“Sometimes, the only way to rationalize it, you know (EUBANK SR. A) has been going through extremely difficult things lately, and it has not been good sometimes, and I think that the media must therefore be cautious around a very delicate situation and perhaps a fragile state of mind,” continued Shalom. “No father should say that about their son, but especially when their son is very honest, very devoted and a large model. I really didn't like it.
“One thing that I know with certainty is that Chris (Eubank Jr.) is freezing, and what is close to a fight, that will not affect him. But that will affect him when he suspends his gloves and moves?”

Eubank Jr. had been trained by his father, but the pair separated in 2019. Eubank Jr. told a little earlier this month he had dismissed his father from his training team because he wanted to go through his own experiences rather than having someone to make all the decisions for him. Since then, Eubank Sr. has experienced a limited contribution to his son's career.
Eubank Jr. and other notable boxing personalities, including Nigel Benn, pleaded with Eubank Sr. to be in the corner of his son for the Eubank Jr. combat against Benn of second generation, but less than three days before the night of combat, it seems unlikely that this is the case. Nevertheless, Shalom knows that Eubank Jr. has the most important fight of his career before him and insists that the absence of his father will not be a distraction for Eubank Jr.
Eubank Jr. against Benn will be challenged in a small ring, at the request of the Benn team. The pair will throw a ring of 18 feet on 18 feet on Saturday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The size of the standard British boxing ring is 20 feet by 20 feet inside the strings, although the sizes of rings between 16 feet by 16 feet and 24 feet out of 24 feet are allowed.
An 18 feet ring, theoretically, will make it more difficult for Eubank Jr. to box and move – as we have seen in recent fights – and facilitate the explosive benn cut to cut the space in order to win big punches. Shalom, however, believes that Eubank Jr. will meet Benn on Saturday.

“EUBANK JR. JUSTER, Tour 5 or 6”, predicted Shalom. “It will be a fiery fight. These two guys do not focus on the rear foot, they are not technical fighters. They are at their best when they are fighting – they are fighters.”

“I think they have too much ego to box on the back. I think they will meet in the middle of the ring and it will be an absolute shooting. It is not only the names, it is not history, it is not only animosity, but these are the real styles of the fight.
Shalom is so confident in his charge that he is ready to accept a bet of 1 million sterling pounds offered by the promoter of Benn, Eddie Hearn.
“He made this bet with me,” said Shalom. “Make sure that if you talk to him, he sticks because suddenly he tries to reverse. (If he didn't want it), I don't know why he spoke, he made the bet.”
There were questions raised to find out if such a bet is legal, because British boxing holders of boxing boxing – to which Shalom and Hearn are in their capacity as promoters – are not allowed to bet in the fights in which they are involved. Shalom, however, says it was given the green light to live with the bet.

“I was told that I can do it – we can do it. He doesn't want to do it now, but he is a big boy with a lot of money, and he should stick to it,” said Shalom. “He should stick to his word, and we should put it.”
Whittaker's revenge
To boxxer of Shalom, it is a major week of combat after another. Last Sunday, Ben Whittaker silenced the opponents with a TKO victory in the second round on Liam Cameron. Cameron and Whittaker fought for a draw last October after the end of their fight when the two men spilled the ropes and outside the ring during the fifth round.
British boxing has a story of major magazines born from controversy. From Carl Froch against George Groves to Josh Taylor against Jack Catterall, British combat fans apparently like more than a controversial end.

“The accumulation here was a story – this revenge captivated British boxing,” said Shalom about Whittaker against Cameron 2. “You have Ben Whittaker, the Olympic silver medalist, flying high. We have never seen someone's figures at this stage. controversy that came.
“At this point, we said to (Whittaker):” Do you want another fight? “He said:” No, we want to return directly to the revenge match. “He had to make a lot of soul, but I tell you what, the pressure of which he was under, the ridiculous quantity of pressure of which he was under – he passed, and his declaration was categorical.

“I have the impression that the fans sometimes want the fighters to be literally sewn (on) on the canvas,” added Shalom on the last controversy compared to the referee's judgment on Sunday. “These moments of a direct elimination coil are fantastic, and they are fantastic for Ben, and perhaps a part of the Ben camp has the impression that it would have been pleasant for (the revenge match) to continue and make them.

Whittaker was subjected to months of abuse on social networks before the fight, and despite his thunderous performance during his biggest night to date, many fighting fans were still not satisfied. The crowd of the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham, England – not far from the birthplace of Whittaker – Hue when the official decision on Sunday was read and during the post -combat interview of Whittaker.
“In the United States, this guy would be celebrated as you would not believe,” said Shalom. “But here (in England), because of his flashiness, because of his confidence, because of his history, that brings out the worst people and the worst fans sometimes.”
British fans have long been supporters of the humble boxers. Anthony Joshua is the largest boxing star in the United Kingdom in recent years, and it has been its quintessence.
Whittaker's brutal bouffonseries may have been a success on social networks, but in Britain, they are frowned upon. Some fans look at Whittaker's fights, while waiting for the day they can celebrate his fall, but it was the case for Floyd Mayweather and “Prince” Naseem Hamed, and it's just to say that they don't have too bad in it.
Shalom confirmed to without crown that Whittaker returns to the ring in September in another headliner of the hometown – with Lewis Edmondson, Dan Azeez and Willy Hutchinson as potential opponents for the undefeated light heavy goods vehicle.
