Eddie Hearn discusses Dalton's Final Hurdle '' before the world title shooting

British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn speak The independent Today before Dalton Smith's next fight.

Smith goes hand in hand with Mathieu Germain this weekend, in their highly anticipated fight.

The Briton launched his year by beating French Walid Ouizza in a Tour, in Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, to win the EBU vacant European title in January.

Hearn went to social networks to share a promotional video before the fight, subtitling the post: “Final Hurdle before the shooting of the world title …” with regard to Smith's next fight with the Sheffield Medical Canon on April 19.

The president of MatchRoom describes Smith as a “world champion pending”, explaining to The independent: “It is because of his chain of coherent performance and the improvement of the training camp but also of him as an individual, who matures, I think that the obtaining of his man of force all around – physically and emotionally.”

Hearn has described his approach to deal with the challenge of not neglecting adversaries, especially when his fighters are dawn of the main title opportunities: “I think that is where your mentality really counts, the way you walk in a training camp. Obviously, Smith's coach is his father, and he is completely a prime contractor in himself, I do not think that they have underperforming him.

“Dalton is very meticulous and he is a real perfectionist, so I think that in this spirit, you know that when he is in these training camps, he is preparing for the best of his capacities.

“But sometimes you see another level in these fighters when they intensify and that is what we think we will see when we fight (Alberto) Puello too. I think it will be a businessman like performance on Saturday.”

Hearn also explained how he believes that Smith has the potential to be a “world class” by adding: “I think, you know, when you talk about British boxers who are world class and who have the potential to be there for a long time to fight at the highest level – it is like, number one in Great Britain in this regard.

“This Saturday, we have a much more difficult test in Germain, but again, if you are an elite operator, you dismantle these guys. I think that it will do it on Saturday, it is ready for Puello.”

The unbeaten 28 -year -old man was appointed compulsory challenger of the WBC world title who is currently held by Puello, who beat Spain Sandor Martin last month in a tight match to win the vacant title.

“This is my world title fight,” said Smith. “This is why I put a lot in my camp. I stole combat partners on the other side of the world for this. I know what can happen after this fight.

“If Mathieu Germain thinks that I neglect him or think too far, then he is wrong. This is my fight for the world title.”
