President Donald Trump announced two new national festivals on Monday.
But don't expect to get additional time. Trump posted on his social platform Truth according to which “we will not close the country” for the days because “we already have too many vacations in America” and “there are no more days in the year”.
“We were then workers, and we are workers now!” He added.
Trump appointed the new holidays on May 8 to mark the victory of the Allies during the Second World War, and on November 11 to mark the signing of the armistice which ended the Second World War.
The president's reasoning for celebrations: “We have won two world wars, but we never caught ourselves – everyone does! Around the world, the Allies celebrate the victory we had during the Second World War. The only country that does not celebrate is the United States of America, and victory was only accomplished because of us.
