Do you have a bad day? Here are 11 simple reminders to help you feel better | Wit & Delight

Sometimes the simplest advice is the most difficult to take. I'm sure you've heard the expression “self Teach you is often a life trip. And now, useful reminders for when you have a bad day. These are the simple but incredibly important things that we tend to neglect or forget when we run empty.

1. Drink water (or jump in the shower).

When will you go back the last time you drank water? When will you go back the last time you showed off? Drinking water or being close / in water is excellent ways to help you reset. When you are overwhelmed, the shower sometimes looks like the last thing you should do, but this is something that will help you bring back to your center.

2. Make sure you eat.

When will you go back the last time you ate? What did you eat? There is never a bad time to make a healthy decision in food. Ask yourself what types of food usually make you feel energized, strong and concentrated, and follow these instincts. Grease food has a time and a place, and it is generally not when we must be very attentive to our body and our mind.

3. Sleep a little.

It's time to become very clear with yourself The bedtime routine This will help you spend the best night's sleep night. What rituals can you start before bedtime that will help you rest easier? Put yourself in bed earlier, store your phone – the things you know how to lead to more sleep.

4. Repeat a mantra.

5. Cry

It's normal to cry.

Check with yourself and if you feel physically outdated or need emotional release, let go of tears if you are capable. If you are on an SSRI, it can sometimes be more difficult to find this version, then when it comes, kiss it. I cry a lot less now, so when I do it, I make sure to give myself time and space to really let it go out. And wow, it feels good!

6. Practice acceptance.

Peace is in the moment without judgment. Worrying about what has happened or what's in front of you is not a way to repair what you feel. Focus on what you're doing right now and try to do it without judgment. Do you check with yourself and ask, “I'm fine?” And try to agree if the answer is no. (I understand that this is not possible in all circumstances, but when this is the case, this can be a useful perspective to take.)

7. Change your landscape.

It can sometimes be tedious to stay for too long in the same place. Ask yourself if you need a landscape change to help adjust your mental state for the best. If you do, something as simple as moving to another room, another workspace or a neighborhood park can help you reset and start again.

8. Call a friend.

If the social interaction seems attractive to you, make a simple telephone call to a friend or a family member (or to obtain a hug from someone, if it is an option for you) can help you get out of the spiral in which you are at the moment.

9. Spend a little time alone.

Sometimes you need a social interaction (see above). In other cases, interaction with others may feel draining. When this happens, if you are able, spend a little time with yourself doing a favorite activity, doing a little reflection, or do nothing at all.

10. Get out of your phone.

When we feel stressed, one of the first things to do is a deep and intentional breathing. Pay attention to your breathing models during stressful periods. You probably find that you hold your breath sometimes or take shallow breaths without even realizing it. The next time you feel anxiety, try to practice belly– You can be surprised to see how much is the difference.

We are never going to eliminate bad days completely, but we can find ways to improve them when they occur. Here are better days for all of us.
