The Federal Communications Commission alerted Comcast Corp. that it will start an investigation into the efforts of diversity, equity and inclusion in the media giant.

The FCC, the agency which regulates the media and telecommunications industry, said in a letter Dated Tuesday that he would open the Comcast survey – which provides large -scale, mobile and wired television services under the XFINITY brand – and NBCUNIVERSAL, the multimedia arm that includes the company's broadcasting and cable television networks, the Peacock streaming application and the universal cinema studio and fun parks.

Carr declared in the letter sent to Comcast that he was “concerned about the fact that Comcast and Nbcuniversal do not promote the prompt forms of Dei in a way that does not respect the regulations of the FCC”.

The letter continues by saying that “Comcast declares on its website that the promotion of Dei is” a fundamental value of our business “and that public reports declare that Comcast has a” whole infrastructure which includes the `(s) day (s) of Dei (s), 'Dei for business leaders' and similar initiatives”. The letter indicates that Nbcuniversal has similar initiatives, “including executives specifically dedicated to the promotion of DEI through television and the side of business programming”.

Later Wednesday, the FCC commissioner Geoffrey Starks on Wednesday, published a statement ordering the investigation and asking to receive more information.
