Peijing: China Monday, April 21, said that it “firmly opposes” to other countries to conclude trade agreements with the United States at Beijing costs, warning that “countermeasures” against them would be needed.
China will take the countermeasures in a “resolute and reciprocal way” if a country was looking for such transactions, said its Ministry of Commerce, adding news from the Trump administration preparing to put pressure on other countries to limit trade with China in exchange for tariff exemptions from the United States.
While the rest of the world was slapped with a coverage rate of 10%, China faces samples up to 145% from many products. Beijing responded with 125% tasks on American goods.
A number of countries are now engaged in negotiations with the United States to reduce prices, in parallel with the full Washington trade war against the best American economic rival in China.
China respects all parties that resolve economic and commercial differences with the United States by consultation on an equal footing, but have warned the nations not to seek an agreement with the United States which compromised its interests.
“Soothing will not bring peace and compromise will not be respected,” a spokesperson for the Beijing Ministry of Trade in a statement.
“Looking for his own temporary selfish interests at the expense of the interests of others is looking for the skin of a tiger,” said Beijing.
This approach, she warned: “will eventually fail at both ends and harm others”.
“China firmly opposes any party, reaching an agreement at the expense of the interest of China,” said the spokesperson. “If such a situation occurs, China will never accept it and resolutely take reciprocal countermeasures.”
China is determined and capable of protecting its own rights and interests, said the ministry.
