Beijing: China warned Wednesday April 16. Until Beijing to come to the negotiation table.
“If the United States really wants to solve the problem by dialogue and negotiation, it should stop exerting extreme pressure, ceasing to threaten and blackmail, and speak to China on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefits,” said the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian.
Trump initially imposed prices on imports from China for its presumed role in the fentanyl supply chain – and recently intensified these samples from business practices that Washington judges unfair.
This year, Trump imposed a 145% price on many goods from ChinaStack at the top of the tasks of previous administrations.
This involved 20% on fentanyl and other illicit drugs, as well as 125% compared to business practices.
The administration of Trump, however, gave temporary stay for certain technological products – like smartphones and laptops – from the last sample.
And on Tuesday, the American president said that “the ball is in the Chinese court. China must conclude an agreement with us,” said a press release from press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a briefing.
Beijing replied on Wednesday saying it was “the United States that initiated this tariff war”.
“The position of China was very clear. There is no winner in a tariff war or a trade war,” said Lin. “China does not want to fight, but it is not afraid to fight.”
