Tending to qualify for the US Open for the second consecutive year, Charlie Woods finished seven strokes on the score of 68 which would have advanced it in the last stage. Woods, 16, pulled a 75 of 3 on the ball Thursday at the National Golf Club Wellington in Florida.
Son of Tiger Woods, Charlie played better in the regional qualification event this year than during his previous test. At Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, last year, Woods pulled 91 out of 91.

The four players who advanced the regional Thursday were Arth Sinha (who drew 66 years), Matthew Marigliano (67), Tyler Stachkunas (68), Carson Kiawonn (68) and Michael Gligic (68). They advance to a final qualification event of a day at 36 holes in Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach, Florida, June 2.
The other well-known names trying to qualify for the US Open are the former quarter of the NFL and the current CBS broadcaster Tony Romo, the striker of the New York Rangers JT Miller and the former pro-Vennis Pro Mardy Fish.
