The longest film Marvel has just over 3 hours. On Wednesday, the studio easily exceeded this length to announce the distribution of the last title “Avengers”.
It took 5 hours and 26 minutes for the superhero studio to unveil the stars of “Avengers: Doomsday”, which he also announced.
Thanks to a livestream on YouTube and his social networks, Marvel unveiled the cast by revealing a new president of a director with an actor name approximately every 10 minutes, with 27 actors announced in what did not seem to be a particular order.
“Avengers: Doomsday” marks a return for many faces of Marvel familiar, notably directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The Brothers guided the “Avengers” franchise through its sprawling scenario which led to “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019. When the duo appeared to San Diego Comic-Con Last summer to announce their upcoming plans, they brought the Marvel icon Robert Downey Jr.Known for his representation of Tony Stark, alias Iron Man. Downey will return to MCU as Doctor Doom in “Doomsday”, which will be released on May 1, 2026.
The announcement video culminated with Downey walking on the long line of chairs and sitting in the last, marked by its name. About 10 million people looked at the broadcast live on X at the end.
The meetings will continue, many original avengers revealed as part of the “Doomsday” distribution. These include Chris Hemsworth like Thor, Anthony Mackie like Sam Wilson / Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, whose president of the ad video was appropriately.
Tom Hiddleston will be back as God of the Loki mischief, Thor's brother, in a torsion that came at around 3 hours and 45 minutes in the live flow. The final of Disney + “Loki” series I saw the titular character assume an integral role of the stability of the entire multiverse, and its inclusion in “Doomsday” surprised many fans.
The X-Men universe of 20th Century Fox officially merges with the MCU. Patrick Stewart will appear in “Doomsday” as Professor Charles Xavier, after a brief cameo as a character of “Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness”. Ian McKellen will make his Marvel debut, probably taking up his role as Magneto. Kelsey Grammer, who played Hank McCoy / Beast in “X-Men” films, was also announced among the actors. Grammer had a cameo like Beast in one of the famous studio credits in “The Marvels” in 2023.
Alan Cumming, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn of the “X -Men” world – all new Marvel arrivals – will also appear. Cumming played Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler, Romijn depicts Raven Darkholme / Mystique before Jennifer Lawrence took the role and Marsden was Scott Summers / Cyclops.
The acquisition of Disney of 21st Century Fox In 2019, Marvel had cinematographic rights on the characters of the “Fantastic Four”, who are the opponents of Doctor Doom. The “Thunderbolts *” crew which will take up their roles include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbor as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds / Sentry, Wyatt Russell as John Walker and Hannah John-Kamen as a Starr / Ghost.
Simu Liu, who played the main character in “Shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings”, will resume his role. The ancient “Black Panther” Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M'Baku) and Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor) are also part of the distribution. Danny Ramirez, who depicts Joaquin Torres / Falcon and appeared in “Captain America: Brave New World” last month, will come back.
Channing Tatum, a Realway in “Deadpool & Wolverine” As Gambit, will resume its role. Tatum had long been attached to a spin-off “X-Men” for the character, who ended up becoming a victim of the acquisition of Disney from Fox.
We do not know how “doomsday” will coherently wrap all these complex characters and script in a single film.

Marvel will finish phase 5 of the Marvel cinematographic universe with “Thunderbolts *” in May and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will launch phase 6 the following month. “Avengers: Doomsday”, the fifth film “Avengers”, was originally supposed to be “Avengers: Kang Dynasty”. The fate of this film was in the limbo after Marvel dismissed Jonathan Majors Last year, after his conviction for assault and harassment. The majors had already played the bad kang conqueror in the MCU.
