Off Broadway Atlantic Theater Company And the international alliance of employees of the theatrical scene has concluded a provisional agreement which could see the Atlantic becoming the very first non -profit theater company producing only Broadway shows to have such a union agreement.
The provisional agreement – awaiting approval by ratification by workers – covers nearly 100 production workers employed by the company. If it is ratified, the agreement could end a strike that started in January after the deadlines of the months of negotiations. The Atlantic crew voted almost unanimously to unionize with Iatse in February 2024.
In a joint declaration, the Atlantic and the IATSE declared that the proposed agreement includes “significant remuneration increases. According to the press release, all details of the agreement will be made available to workers and stakeholders in the organization in the coming days.
“In the end, after many discussions and dialogues, the Atlantic Theater Company is about to become the first non -profit theater company producing Broadway in history to have a union agreement covering production classifications,” the statement said.
