The Apophis asteroid, of the name of the Egyptian God of chaos and destruction
ESA science office
In four years, on April 13, 2029 to be exact, a large asteroid named Apophis will fly to the ground just 32,000 kilometers above the surface. Apophis, like the recently identified asteroid known under the name of 2024, was once considered an intensive course with our planet. After his probability of hitting us was lowered to zero, and some alleged sighs of relief, astronomers began to plan the day when he is exceptionally close.
