American theater | PlayPenn announces a conference of new part redesigned and extended

Philadelphia: PlaypennA national development center for the new game based in Philadelphia, will hold a conference for the development of the new piece in 2025 rethought with an extended model on the city scale. The conference will take place from July 5 to 20.

For almost two decades, Playpenn is the cornerstone of the development of new games, offering a vital platform for playwrights to create, collaborate and connect. This year, the conference extends its scope beyond a single location to bring new parts to the communities in four districts of the County of Philadelphia, thanks to a revolutionary collaboration with Interact the theater company,, Philadelphia Theater Company,, Philadelphia, young playwrights,, Power Street Theater,, Theater in X and the Wilma Theater. Collaboration aims to promote greater sustainability in the arts by sharing resources and widening the public.

The new development conference for this year's play, selected from nearly 200 submissions in the Atlantic region, explores urgent themes thanks to innovative narration and will receive intensive development with the main artistic teams. The works of resident playwrights include:

• Amman. Egg. Oyá. By Lori Felipe-Barkin, a powerful exploration of infertility, maternity and fierce determination to have a child, a mixture of health, modern miami and Cuban rhythms. Power Street Theater will be his partner theater.
• Hand -to -hand By LM Feldman, an intimate and raw portrait of three aging aerials sailing the love, loss and uncertainty of art in half-carrier. The Wilma Theater will be his partner theater.
• Harlem Canary / Tokyo Crow By Andrew Saito, a satirical comedy on the “black propaganda operations” of the Second World War, in which the captured African-American war prisoners were forced to record radio plays comparing racial freedoms in Japan and the American theater of the X will be its partner theater.

These playwrights will be in residence for two weeks, each of their exceptional works undergoing intensive rehearsals, leading to two public readings staged. Each piece will be twinned with one of the Playpenn's partner theaters and their artistic teams, providing invaluable advice, comments and resources.
