Spleto, Italy: This summer, Mama Ombria will celebrate the 26th year of her Flagship symposium program in Spoleto, Italy. Symposium for directors and playwrights to learn from some of the most renowned cinemas in the world, it will meet on July 16. 6, and retirement will take place from August 9 to 19. The sessions will focus on physical theater, puppet, spatial design and the search for danger in creation.
According to the co -producer David J. Diamond, this year's symposium will highlight the way in which “the theater and the show arts can have a significant and lasting effect on the way we see” the other “while we will confront polarization and conflicts all over the world. The artists leading the workshops dedicated their artistic life in the pursuit of the best understanding, the deep meaning, the diversity of thought that enriches that we enrich our ways and services for the years. Stefanie Batten Bland will teach the physical theater perspectives, a gender mixing workshop that addresses the scaling of kinesthetic consciousness in immersive theater parameters and explores the design and realization of skills necessary for the displacement, the game, the sound and the text to defend abstract and linear narration.
Liesl Tommy Go direct artists through the art of curiosity, with exercises examining new works and referrals two classics with a process asking: What is the artist's depth? To what extent is their work dangerous at each stage of the path? Do we make room so that the magic of imagination leads?
Dan Hurlin will teach the use of puppets to transmit ideas in performance, explore how the puppet is used to serve the stories and dramaturgical requirements of a particular performance, transmit ideas and work in performance with their limits and forces. The Hurlin seminar will explore the puppet, the Bunraku style, the shadow and other styles.
Wesley Ruzibiza will teach spatial design and story, offering a new perspective on narration by integrating spatial design with narrative development and highlighting the potential of physical space both in canvas and a creative expression catalyst and stories design that resonates far beyond our personal experience.
In addition, Simon McBurney and Milo Rau will direct the approaches of theater manufacturing seminars. Registration in symposium workshops ends on May 15.
