He almost blew up a two-stroke advance, but Sepp Straka's impressive 2025 season continued on Sunday afternoon.
Straka was held late while Shane Lowry collapsed in the section of the Philadelphia Country Club to win a victory in two shots in the Trist championship. Straka posted a last round 68 to reach 16 under the week and claim what is now his second title of the PGA Tour season.

Straka is now only the second golfer with several titles in 2025. Rory McILroy, who finished the big career goals last month at the Masters, is the other.
Straka's victory occurred in the middle of a brutal fellow of Lowry, which was looking for its first solo title on tour of almost five full years. Lowry has made Bogey on two of his last three holes, and he has three shots on the final green to push two shots. His last Miss sent him crouching with her head in her hands in the corner of the green while Straka finished to get her victory.
Straka and Lowry stolen in front of the field on Saturday and accumulated an advance of three strokes after the 54 -hole brand. This advance, however, disappeared fairly quickly during the final round – even with a stewed box to a birdie at the opening hole. Lowry went around 1 under the day, while Straka seemed to be ready to run away with the tournament. He swept the fifth by 3, then made Birdies consecutive to the Tour to accumulate a two-stroke advance.

But Straka erased these birdies immediately with consecutive bogeys. This kept Straka and Lowry locked up, and allowed Justin Thomas to stay at a time of strike – although Thomas missed two very reinforced putts, one for Birdie and another for the peer, to play it. He finished tied for second place at 14 under the week.
Straka and Lowry stayed in locking on the nine on the back, and even everyone loved on the 15th after having made almost identical tokens on the green. Lowry stopped just unless you fall, which would have given it an eagle and an advance at a time.
But finally, Straka moved away for good in 16th row while Lowry collapsed. Straka stuck his approach to the short par-3 and two strokes for an easy peer. Lowry missed the green from the tee and then brought his look out by look per. It left him with a Bogey and sent him one.

Straka then ended with consecutive pars, including one on the 18th after landing in the Fairway bunker, while Lowry continued to trip at the finish. Lowry brought back a steep look on the 17th, then sent his TIR directly against the stands along the right Rough on the last hole to open the way to Straka to win his title.
Lowry has not won an individual title on the PGA Tour since 2019, when he won the British Open in Royal Portrush. He won the Zurich Classic last season alongside Rory McILroy in New Orleans, who marked his third career victory on Tour. Lowry has only missed one cup on tour this season and now has four top-10. His Sunday finalist is also his second of the season.

Straka has quietly a very good 2025. He started the year with a victory at the American Express at his third start of the season. Since then, he has only missed two cups and has not finished worse than T28. Now, not even halfway through the season, he has doubled his total career victories. SEPP is now in second position in the Fedexcup ranking as well.
Straka and Lowry are expected to travel to the top 10 in the official world golf ranking for the first time in their career after Sunday's performance. The best ranking of Straka was n ° 11, while Lowry was seated at a career summit no. 12 entering this week.
Straka has largely fought in the PGA championship throughout his career. He finished T66 during his very first release during the event in 2020, and he missed the Cup last season. He finished T7 in 2023, although he was seven head shots and did not have a legitimate chance in the Wanamaker trophy this Sunday.
But with the way he played this season, Straka is absolutely able to take a step in the second major next week at the Hollow Club. With two victories to his credit in a few months, he could now finally be his time to unravel.
