“History has taught us that regardless of reason or ideology, military assault against another country is an unjust crime that will not fail,” Taiwanese president, Lai Ching-Te, told Diplomats in Taipei. His remarks occurred during the very first official commemoration of Taiwan of the day VE and at a time when Taiwan did diplomatic pressure for closer ties with his colleagues democracies which nevertheless have no official link with the self-indicated island in deference to Beijing.
