While the emissions in person of a circle over the years have forced fans to get on an aircraft and to go to historical and distant destinations such as the Sisteron Citadel in FranceBarbolla wanted Cercle Odyssey to be more accessible to fans. “We wanted to bring nature to the city,” he says.
It was also an objective for Barbolla to make massive production as durable as possible, so he used projected screens instead of lead screens. In this way, his team has only to travel with the custom canvas they use for projections, which “is very small” and can be folded. For everything else, the Circle team rents sound, light and camera equipment and hires local teams to work in each city, which makes the project more economical and ecological.
For the moment, the Cercle Odyssey Tour, which started in Mexico City last month, will envelop in Paris on June 1, but Barbolla says that it wants to extend it and bring it to more cities in the near future. It is also a dream to give him the artistic installation that he created to other creators and artists, so that they can also add their interpretation to it.
“The possibilities are endless,” he says. “We have (perhaps) explored 1% of what we could do in this room.”
