Everyone wants to know who has won or lost the trade of George Pickens. The answer is not satisfactory, but the reality is that it made sense to Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pickens was exchanged from steelers to cowboys, with Dallas abandoning a 3rd round choice in 2026 and a 5th round choice in 2027 for Pickens and a 6th round choice in 2027. Pickens had become a problem for the steelers, no matter how talented it was, and the cowboys needed an upgrade in the receiver. It made sense.

But there are sides that have won and lost in the profession. Here are the winners and losers of the Pickens trade:
Winners
George Pickens: The time of Pickens with the Steelers had followed its course. The acquisition of DK Metcalf, which is practically an older version of Pickens, clearly indicated that Pickens was likely to be moved. The teams do not often exchange 24 -year -old players with the talent of Pickens, but clearly Pittsburgh was tired of the distractions brought by Pickens.

Pickens needed a new start and it is a perfect opportunity. If he has a silent and productive season during a contractual year – which is configured to make passes for a good quarterly as a clear option n ° 2 in the game of passes – he will obtain either an extension of the cowboys, will obtain a label of lucrative franchise or will strike the free market at the next season at 25 years. It is up to him to change the perception of surrounding him. He has what is equivalent to a slate capable of doing.

Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb: The lamb can wear an offense, but it is not easy. There was simply no one else in the cowboys offensive to be a threat to withdraw attention from the lamb. That everything changes with Pickens. It is also a good adjustment, with Pickens as a deep threat of an elite which can open things to the lamb below.
It was also a necessary decision for Prescott. A good way to launch interceptions is to force passes to the only reliable receiver in an offense when the defense knows that it arrives. The simple presence of pickens helps Prescott in many ways.
Mike Tomlin: Tomlin must ask himself what he did to deserve his end of Diva receptors. Antonio Brown, Chase Claypool, Juju Smith-Schuster, Pickens … They all brought their own level of headache in the Steelers room.
Pickens was not on the block because it is not good enough. The Steelers could have played this season with him, let him walk as a free agent and the compensatory choice would probably have been similar to what they got cowboys. But the Steelers clearly wanted Pickens to the list now. Not that Metcalf is Always easy to trainBut at least Tomlin has one less problem to solve.
Losers
Aaron Rodgers: Regardless of the quantity of pickens headache, the Steelers receiver room is pretty thin after exchanging it.

It is not that Rodgers would be surprised by the Pickens trade, but there is always reality that it will not have many reliable targets to throw this season. We can assume at this stage that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers. But this is probably not the ideal situation he hoped for.
If Rodgers does not sign, who the quarter of the Steelers will not have many targets to pay.
Brian Schottenheimer: Mike Tomlin has 18 years of experience in head coach and a curriculum vitae of the reproductive temple. And he could clearly no longer manage Pickens.
Pickens can be a challenge for any coach, on any market. How about a recruit head coach for the most watched team in the NFL? Schottenheimer is a first head coach of the NFL, and there is no way to have a calm and normal season. This does not happen to Dallas. But the addition of Pickens complicates an already complicated situation.

Maybe Pickens has a normal and calm season and there is never a problem for Schottenheimer. It seems unlikely. Schottenheimer will be tested this season. It will not have the simplest introduction in life to be cowboys head coach.
Steelers timing: The Steelers announced their exchange for DK Metcalf on March 13. At that time, it seemed clear that they would try to exchange Pickens. They had six weeks before the start of the NFL draft. And they couldn't trade before that.
It was clever by the Cowboys to wait until after the draft of the NFL. Instead of their third round choice, going to the Steelers, they used this choice to write Shavon Revel Jr., a corner that slipped into the draft and should contribute immediately. The Steelers are waiting for a year to use the choice of third round they have obtained. The Steelers had their own motivation to conclude the agreement and not just play the season with Pickens, and Dallas had to feel it. It would have been better for the Steelers to move Pickens before the project. But they had to be content to exchange it now.
