There will not be Triple crown Winning horse races this year.
Sovereignty, the three-year-old thoroughbred that won the Kentucky derby Saturday, will not run in the Preakness Stakes – The second stage of the three races that make up the triple crown – After being announced, the colt will rather focus on the Belmont Stakes.

Mott said on Sunday that sovereignty had a scratch on his right paturoon, which is above the hoof, but that it was not serious. Mott said he was probably coming to cut the heels with another horse when he left the door.
