Sovereignty propelled the last round and exceeded favorite journalism in the last consecutive line to win Kentucky Derby on Saturday, giving stable Godolphin a first victory for the classic American races at Churchill Downs.
Without coupling by the sloppy track after a rainy day in Louisville, sovereignty took control in the last Furlong to give Alvarado the Venezuelan Jockey Alvarado a first victory of Kentucky Derby.
