NBC Sports host Mike Tirico said on Monday that he felt good after having had to leave the Kentucky derby Broadcast early on weekends due to a strong reaction to a nut allergy.
“I had a nut allergy all my life and I am generally very, very prudent,” he said in the show “Today”. “I ate something that had a nut in it and had a walnut allergy, causing your throat and your nose and all that is blown and swells. This affects your breathing a little. “

Tirico said he had taken a spinephrine blow and had been treated with EMT at Churchill Downs. He started to feel better later Saturday evening.
“I am embarrassed by attention,” he said.
Ahmed Fareed took over for the 58 -year -old broadcaster, who hosted the derby coverage for the ninth year.
Tirico is expected to host Preakness issues on NBC on May 17.
