Most of the wine enthusiasts we know enjoyed more than one serious Malbec d'Argentine But only the most passionate faithful know that Malbec is from Bordeaux and Cahors and was brought to Argentina in the middle of the 19th yearsth century. Far from his Reception in the southwest of FranceMalbec has certainly become more popular in her new house than ever in the old country. One of the reasons is that Argentina has the highest collective altitude in the world, with an average height of 2,700 feet; One of the main advantages of increased altitude is larger fluctuations in the variation in day -to -day temperature. Sun light increases sugar and other complex flavors during the maturation process, while the night cold preserves the natural acidity of the grapes, so Argentina Malbec often has a more concentrated, daring and tasty taste.
Most of the Argentina Malbec develops Mendo-With vineyards ranging from 1,500 feet to 5,600 feet. It is also cultivated in even higher altitude vineyards in Salta north and closer to sea level in the cold region of Rio Negro in the south of the country. Higher altitudes in Mendoza and Salta and colder temperatures all year round in Rio Negro have developed thicker skin, which causes stronger tannins and more concentrated flavors than you will find in Malbec elsewhere. Expect flavors of red and dark black fruit of black cherry, blackberries and plum as well as notes of ground pepper, dark chocolate, espresso beans, leather and tobacco. This daring flavor profile associated with medium to heavy tannins makes Malbec the perfect slope when the toasted steaks are on the menu.

The Vinification team of Achaval Ferrer uses vineyards to specifically and deliberately obtain low yields of the vineyards. They planted 2,600 vines per acre, which means that the vines compete for water and develop deeper and more substantial root networks, thus resulting from more concentrated and tasty grapes. This 2019 comes from their Finca Mirador and has aromas and flavors of red raspberry, black plum, finely ground black pepper and dark berries. High the ATS 2022 Malbec Lovers Valley Mendoza
The Tuscan Alberto Antonini winemaker visited Mendoza in 1995 and identified a site which, according to him, would be perfect for the culture of quality malbec grapes. He and his team bought 530 acres from Lujan de Cuyo and named the Domaine Altos Las Hormigas – translated from Spanish as “heights of ants” – because they were constantly fighting with aggressive ants for domination on the ground. Their efforts have borne fruit and today Altos Las Hormigas constantly manufactures some of the best wines in Argentina. Their Los Ammantes 2022 has a well integrated bouquet with aromas of blue, black and red fruits which result in flavors of black plum, red cherry and blueberry in the mouth.
