Karen Read It seems to take his new trial for murder in the process … seeming to be relaxed after a recent legal appearance – Take a drink and chat with foreigners.
TMZ obtained photos from Read in Savr, a bistro in the Boston district in Seaport – shortly after finishing another week of his new trial on Friday.
The eyewitnesses tell us that Read was with his legal team – including the powerful defense lawyer Alan Jackson … to whom we are told to flatter everyone in the bar, work the room and Schmozing as a pro.
The group was there for about an hour and a half … and Karen had one or two Martini of Expresso – just a little something to relax after what must be a few difficult weeks for her.
We are told that she did nothing rowdy, keeping mainly for her – even if she was not exposed either. Several groups approached her and asked for a photo with her and her lawyers, and we are told that she forced them all.
Kr discussed with a few people outside the group, say our sources … and, on the whole, his mood seems optimistic.
As you know … Karen is accused of second degree murder, manslaughter by vehicle by leading under influence and leaving the scene of a collision causing death after the prosecutors said that she crushed her boyfriend, the Boston police officer John O'Keefe.
Read lawyers retaliated by affirming that she is the victim of concealment by police officers whom she alleged defeated O'Keefe during a party and threw him into the snow where he died.
It was tried last summer … where a jury voted in favor of acquittal – 12-0 – On the accusation of second degree murder and the accusation of leaving the scene of an accident where there have been injuries or death. They voted 9-3 in favor of the conviction with regard to the accusation of guilty manslaughter.
