Byd may not be a familiar name on the American market, because the company does not sell vehicles here now, but it has stormed the world in recent years. When most investors think of electric vehicle shares (EV), their minds go to Tesla. It's just, because Tesla has changed the game mainly when he brought EVS dominant. But Byd quickly caught up the competition and, in many ways, exceeded his rival.
Last year, byd exceeded Tesla on overall annual income, declaring $ 107 billion compared to the $ 98 billion in Tesla. Byd also did an incredible job by improving its finances and results, also exceeding Tesla during the first quarter. Byd said its net profit increased by 100% compared to the previous year, to around $ 1.3 billion. It was far ahead of Tesla's disappointing results in the first quarter of $ 409 million, a drop of about 70% compared to the previous year.
Byd has led growth not only in deliveries and income, but also in progress. Consider that Byd made its advanced standard of driver assistant systems through its range, with Chinese competitors depending on the step. The company also launched a new system which can give 250 miles of load in just five minutes. Its 1,000 kW chargers are four times more powerful than Tesla's current chargers, which can add around 200 miles of range in 15 minutes.
Although the company has not planned to penetrate the American market as soon as it does not mean that there is no international growth to have. In fact, management is waiting to sell more than 800,000 vehicles outside of China this year, which represents more than double the previous year.
