Seven delegates from the European People's Party refused to put their names to a motion condemning the attacks of October 7, 2023 in Hamas in Israel and calling for the release of the hostages remaining at the Party Congress in Valencia on Wednesday.
The resolution on the urgent need to release all the hostages held by Hamas '' was one of the many emergency requests on the second day of the Congress, and was deposited by the delegations of Christian and Austrian Party of Sweden and the Austrian people.
The resolution condemned: “In the strongest possible terms, the despicable terrorist attacks (October 7, 2023) committed by the Hamas terrorist group against Israel”, calling for the immediate and unconditional liberation of all the hostages taken by the Hamas terrorist group and to the bodies of deceased hostages.
The motion was approved by the congress, but seven deputies of deputies abstained on a demonstration of hands.
The Congress procedure did not record the identity of the delegates who voted by lifting white shifts in the dark conference room.
Meanwhile, a motion on “solidarity with Ukraine”, deposited by Baltic parties and Ukrainian groups, reaffirming the determination “to use all means to end the non -provoked, illegal, terrorist and unjustifiable Russian of the war of aggression against Ukraine”, also reached resistance.
He was also adopted, but a delegate voted against the request and 28 abstaining.
