Moscow: Russia and North Korea Wednesday April 30) began building a road bridge between the two countries that will extend to the Tumen river, part of an effort to strengthen their strategic partnership, said the Russian Prime Minister.
The bridge is under construction near the existing “friendship bridge”, a rail bridge which was commanded in 1959 after the Korean War.
During a ceremony dedicated to the start of the construction of the new bridge, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said it was an important event in Russian-Korean relations, reported the state of Tass.
“Meaning goes far beyond an engineering task,” said Mishustin. “It symbolizes our common desire to strengthen friendly and candy relationships and increase interregional cooperation.”
