To the editor: It is breathtaking that an administration that claims to be so pro-family, pro-child and pro-far is even planning to make care for children more expensive and heavy for parents (“With a step ahead of Jeopardy, the Trump administration threatens childcare for 800,000 children”, “ April 23).
As a member concerned of our community, a defender passionate about children and families and a new mother in shock from $ 30,000 more per year that I now pay for child care, I know that these attacks on childcare and Head Start will have long -term devastating consequences for our children, our families, our economy and the future of our country. I urge our members of the Congress to arrest the devastating attacks on the Trump administration against childcare and start by rejecting any cup to these vital programs. The future of our children and our economy depend on it.

To the publisher: If President Trump thinks that the end of Head Start will make it look good, he has something to come.
In approximately 66% of families of American married couples, Both parents work. This situation creates a desperate need for childcare. If Trump wants to increase prices with prices, how does he think that these families of workers can afford the costs that accompany these reckless movements?

To the publisher: As a retired public school teacher and a former single mother who needs childcare services, I know how important the Head Start program is important for the families of our country. Head Start must be extended and not finished.
Our country needs departure so that parents can work, children can prosper and childcare agents can stay in their profession. We know that children who have positive and engaging interactions during their first years, such as those provided by Head Start, are more likely to enjoy good physical and mental health during their lifetime. They are also better able to live, regulate and manage their emotions – key skills for subsequent school preparation. As a retired teacher, I understand the value of this for subsequent success in class.

To the publisher: Sixty and eleven percent of women Children under the age of 18 are in the workforce, and many others volunteer without salary in community organizations and classrooms. The United States must invest more in childcare and Head Start and less in military and war industries.
Head Start and Early Head Start are particularly important for the well-being of our country. They help children prosper, to give daycare workers the opportunity to stay and grow in their profession and to allow parents to work or go to school. Head Start is not only important for children – this raises the financial sustainability of families and our economy.
As a primary school teacher for 20 years, I saw the value of the daycare and the preschool of quality. Quality childcare experiences for young children open the way to success in primary school and beyond.
