The Steelers Ryan Watts corner half is medically withdrawn at 23 due to an injury to the neck of his recruit season

The Pittsburgh steelers announced on Monday that they published the second year corner of the Ryan Watts due to health problems. Watts, who suffered a neck injury during the 2024 pre-season, will be medically removed at the age of 23.

In a statement, the director general of the Steelers, Omar Khan, said that the team would support Watts while he will get out of football.

“Unfortunately, today, we publish Ryan Watts on our list. After consulting our medical team, our medical experts and Ryan representatives, we all agree that it is in Ryan's best interest to stop playing football at that time,” Khan wrote in the press release. “We will continue to help and support Ryan as he goes to the next phase of his life.”

Watts injured his neck last summer in the last Pittsburgh pre-season match against the Detroit lions. The injury ended its recruited season.
