A man arrested for suspension to kill a Russian general with a car pleased accusations of terrorism and said that he had been paid by the Ukrainian security service, the Russian authorities announced on Sunday.

Lieutenant-general Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy chief of the main operational department of the general staff of the Russian armed forces, was killed with his Asistant on Friday by a bomb of his car in Balashikha, outside the capital Moscow.

The Ukrainian authorities did not comment on the attack, which was the second in four months to target the high -ranking Russian military offices which were attributed to Ukraine in the middle of the conflict between the two countries.

Lieutenant-general Igor Kirillov died on December 17, 2024 when a hidden bomb on an electric scooter outside his building exploded while he was passing on his desk. The Ukraine security agency recognized that it was behind this attack.

Kirillov was the head of the forces of radiation, biological protection and chemicals of Russia, a special group of soldiers responsible for the protection of the military of the enemy use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons while ensuring operations in a contaminated environment.

He was under sanction by a number of countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, because of its actions in the war against Ukraine.
