Walt Jocketty, managing director decorated with the cardinals of St. Louis and the Reds of Cincinnati, died at 74, confirmed the two teams on Saturday. In a career of several decades as an MLB manager, Jocketty led the two teams to playoff races, including a World Series victory with the Cardinals in 2006.
Jocketty found its greatest success in Saint-Louis, leading the Cardinals from 1994 to 2007 as managing director. The GM has helped the cardinals with seven appearances in playoffs and two pennants of the national league in addition to the victory of the World Series.

The cardinals took the time to pay tribute to Jocketty after his death. “We present our condolences to his family and to the many friends he made in the baseball game,” wrote the team in a job on social networks.
After being dismissed by the cardinals in 2007, Jocketty joined the Reds, first as a special advisor before becoming managing director in 2008. After eight seasons and three appearances in playoffs, Jocketty was promoted to president of baseball operations.
Before his visit with the cardinals, Jocketty began his career with the Oakland Athletics, spending 14 years with the team. He also had a brief passage to the Recruits of Colorado Recruits.
