After being lying in the state for three days, Pope Francis will be put at rest on Saturday after a funeral ceremony in place St Peter's in the city of Vatican.
A mass of funeral will be held outside, with heads of state, including American president Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who takes care.
Tens of thousands of people in mourning, many of whom have traveled around the world to attend, should meet in the public square before the start of public mass at 10:00 am.
Up to 200,000 people are expected.
The late pontiff will then be transported to be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, or Saint Mary Major, one of the four papal basilicas of Rome.
Pope Francis has revised and simplified the Vatican rites before the funeral, who will see the presidents and the Royals attend while the convicts and the migrants assure him at his last place of rest.
The Pope hoped that the ceremony would reflect the priorities of his papacy, where he aimed to emphasize his role as a simple priest rather than a powerful religious leader.
