Nuclear nations have triggered a raft of measures against each otherIndia putting the Critical Water Treaty of the Indus in Abeyance and Pakistan closing its airspace in Indian Airlines.
The Treaty, negotiated in 1960, divided the Indus river and its tributaries between the two countries and the sharing regulated by water.
“We will ensure that a single drop of water from the Industry river reaches Pakistan,” said Indian Minister for Water Resources, CR Paatil in a position on X.
Pakistan depends strongly on the industrial system for hydroelectricity and irrigation, and has declared that any attempt to stop or divert its waters will be an “act of war”.
American president Donald Trump seemed to play in tensions, saying that he was confident India and that Pakistan will determine relations between them, although the attack was “bad”. He said he was very close to India and Pakistan and knew their two leaders.
“They will be understood in one way or another, I am sure,” said Trump on a travide on his plane. “There is a great tension between Pakistan and India, but there have always been.”
Indian financial markets have dropped sharply, but have recovered some of their losses to close 0.7% to 0.9% less. The Indian roupine dropped by 0.2%, while the return on the reference obligation to 10 years from India increased by four base points.
