Alijah Arenas, a five -star USC commitment and a son of the former Washington Wizards star, Gilbert Arenas, was placed in a medically induced coma after a car accident early Thursday, according to Shams Charania in ESPN.
Alijah, a 6 -foot 6 -inch goalkeeper from Chatsworth high school in California, is considered one of the best prospects for the promotion of 2025. He considered offers of several schools, including Kansas and Kentucky, before engaging in the USC in January.

His excellent performance in high school earned Alijah a place in the All-American match of McDonald's in April. Alijah scored 11 points for the west, helping to lead the team to a 105-92 victory against the East. Gilbert was in the competition stands, watching Alijah showing his skills.
Gilbert spent 11 seasons in the NBA, most of which came with the Wizards. After being drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 2001 NBA Restchage, Gilbert made a modest recruit season before winning the most improved player in the NBA during his second year of the League.
He joined the Wizards as a free agent and saw his career take off. Gilbert raised an average of 25 points and 5.7 assists in eight years in Washington. He was triple All-Star and finished eighth in the MVP vote after the 2006-07 season.
