A van driver consumed “at least 20 lines of cocaine” before he hit a tram, then collided with a three -year -old girl walking with her parents, heard a court.
Louisa Palmisano, known as Lulu, died at the hospital in her injuries after being struck on the sidewalk walking with her parents during a family trip to Manchester February 22.
Rawal Rehman left the scene of the collision in Mosley Street around 10 a.m., but was then arrested.
Rehman, 35, from Lambton Road, Manchesterpleaded guilty to Manchester Crown Court to cause death by a dangerous conduct in its Sprinter Mercedes vigrology.
Prosecutor Rachel Shenton told court that Rehman had visited two massage salons in the city in the early hours of February 22.
She added that the accused had taken “at least 20 cocaine lines” in seven hours.
Judge Alan Conrad KC learned that it was the accusation case that Rehman's conduct had been negatively affected by his consumption of controlled drugs.

In a press release, the Crown prosecution service (CPS) said that Rehman had ignored the stop panels and gave the tram driver to react before he hit the side of the van, which then mounted the sidewalk.

“Rehman has not assumed responsibility for his actions. He fled the premises in a taxi and denied that he had led dangerously into the interview, accepting the responsibility of his third hearing before the court. He must now face the consequences of his role in this completely avoidable tragedy. ”
In 2017, Rehman was imprisoned for three years for a conspiracy in order to pervert the route after burning a car involved in a fatal collision of flight offense that killed a 25 -year -old man in Chorlton, Manchester.
