To the editor: Honestly, I support DIST. Atty. Nathan Hochman's decision to bring back the death penalty, and I think that makes sense in some cases (“Da Hochman officially brings back the death penalty to Los Angeles,“March 25). Some crimes are so heartless and inhuman that life in prison does not seem to be a sufficient punishment. I do not think it should be used lightly, but making it optional sends a message that there is, in fact, real consequences for the worst type of crimes. I do not think it is a question of taking revenge, it is more justice. And sometimes justice requires being firm.
