In a now viral Video, Republican representative Lisa Murkowski recently spoke to a conference In her original state, Alaska, where she openly admitted that she was afraid of denouncing Donald Trump.
“What do you have to say to people who are afraid or who represent people who are afraid?” A person in the crowd asked Murkowski.
“We are all afraid,” replied Murkowski. After taking a long break, she continued: “It's a whole declaration. But we are in a time and a place where, I don't know, I certainly don't have it, I have not been here before.”
“And I'm going to tell you that I am often very anxious about the use of my voice because the reprisals are real. And that is not true.”
“But that's what you asked me to do. And therefore, I will use my voice at best my abilities, and sometimes it will be considered in a way that is good, which is quite conflict. And other times, it will use the charm of my mother that I learned as a little girl in direct communication with which I have made relationships and that I am able to affect a certain change in this way.”
“But I have to understand how I can do my best to help the many who are so anxious and who are so afraid.”
The entrance to Murkowski was controversial to say the least. Here's how people react on X:
“This should concern each person who looks at him. That an American senator would say that it is terrifying,” wrote a person.
“And she is in the majority part,” said this person.
In contrast, some people have expressed any sympathy for the GOP representative. “Respectfully, grow up a vertebral column,” wrote a person.
This person called Murkowski's declarations “cowardice”.
Another person highlighted the Murkowski statement Refusing to vote for Trump or Kamala in the 2024 elections.
“Zero sympathy. I have no sympathy for the Republicans who are afraid of denouncing Trump for fear of reprisals,” wrote this person.
