With a toddler, a shih tzu and several chickens, the actor Poppy Liu has a full house.
“I raise so many beings,” said the star of “Hacks”, which recently appeared in the dramatic series of Netflix “No Good Deed” and will feature alongside Tessa Thompson in the next streamer series “her and hers.”
“I love having chickens because it makes the earth eating eggs on my own court,” she explained. “I was really devastated when two of them were chosen by coyotes. I was concerned about the mental health of the third. It's like” at this stage, you are my pet. I fear that you have a depression. “”
When we speak, Liu, in Bullet Journal, has already planned her perfect Sunday until the hour. “I have set up a calendar,” she prefaced. “Normally, I could do it for two days, but I will do everything in a very ambitious Sunday.”
In a departure of many other new parents interviewed for this column, Liu chose to imagine a perfect Sunday with “robust daycare services” which she would largely pass alone. “My day would be really different if it was a full day with my toddler,” she said. “It would be a lot of parks to which we are going, the baby gymnasium, the gardens of Descanso and stuff like that. But I decided to do my day solo because I really feel private about my little one, and I want to preserve all the parks.
On the agenda of Liu's perfect solo Sunday? “Exciting” fruits, acupuncture and several sugary drinks.
This interview was slightly modified and condensed for duration and clarity.

8:30 am: Wake up with baby
Right now, my baby is going through a little sleep regression because I was out of the city a bit. So now that I'm back, they are very, very sticky, which, I think, is so cute, and therefore we have slept. They like to wake up, then turn to look at me and hold my face in their little hands and leave, “mom”. You can see the relief when they wake up; There is a moment of disorientation, then they turn around and see me and they are like “Ah”. We are just going to lie on the pillow, just smiling (one against the other).

10 p.m.: Showcase while enjoying a fresh smoothie
On Figueroa Street in Highland Park, there is a smoothie stand called Tropical juice Where I like to go to get a green juice or a kind of smoothie. And because Figueroa has a ton of small cute shops on it, I just take my little juice and I walk. I go often Wasteland Or The bearded beagle To save. Cooking mouse Is there, which is good for a coffee, breakfast and to meet a friend. Cookbook Has a nice selection of wines, and there is a florist right next to the tropical juice when I receive fresh flowers. It's a beautiful street that works.

10:30 am: Personal training
I will then see my personal trainer at South not fitness. It is a 10 -minute drive from Juice Place. His name is Nailah Jamerson; She is incredible. I have seen her for a year now. Usually we are just making weights, and if I see it twice a week, I will have a day from the upper body and a lower body day. When she asked me what my goals were, I said to myself: “I want to be toned, but also I want a huge ass. Like the most serious ass, the smallest size. ”
11:30 am: Acupuncture recovery
Right after, I see my acupuncturist, because I trained, my muscles are painful and now I want to relax them. My acupuncturist, whom I like, his name is saus sum and she is at Dear acupuncture song in Pasadena. It is such an empath and very intuitive too.
I have the impression that she is really a healer in the real sense. Each time, she checks all things: look at my tongue, check my pulse, look at my complexion – all that – but also mentally and emotionally (check) where I am too. We will sometimes have two -hour sessions. It will make acupuncture, suction cups, Moxa – which is cigar (therapy incorporating cabbage in barrels) on acupressure points. A week, I missed therapy (talk) and she ended up being my therapist. I spoke to him and I ended up crying a heap. And I said to myself: “Oh, that's what I needed in therapy.”

1 p.m.: Quick bite at Amara coffee
Right next to the place of my acupuncturist in Pasadena is this really very delicious Venezuelan place called Amara coffee. They are a Maman-et-Pop store. I did not know what was the Venezuelan cuisine before (I started to go here), but it's great. It is generous but also in a way a snack, and there are a lot of “stuff inside something you can hold”, that I like. I don't even know the names of the dishes, but they have a lot of photos there so that you can be like “it looks great.” And they also have coffee. I like my milky and soft coffee like a dessert. If I feel spicy, I'm going to have a latte, always with non -dairy milk. I want him to have a candy taste, like a melted chocolate bar.

3 p.m.: Trek in Koreatown for fresh fruit
This particular Sunday, I really want fresh fruit, so I'm doing a little hiking at K-Town to go to What what fruitWho is this Maman-et-Pop fruit store with the most delicious exciting fruits: Hairy Lychoue, Longan. I don't like to eat dragon fruits, but I think it's beautiful. Sometimes my mother will have a sugar cane. The majority of Chinese or Asian fruits, there is just nostalgia for them, and they are always interesting and strangely shaped.
7 p.m.: Dinner at the Bistro Levant
After all that, I go to Levant Bistro + Bake Shop In Silver Lake, which is an incredible Lebanese cuisine which is also gluten -free. (I am intolerant with gluten and I receive eczema if I eat gluten.) I like to have a really quiet dinner. As I like a Spanish dinner, if you want, which goes in the night. I do not smoke cigarettes, but the one where you smoke a proverbial cigarette and the wine flows. A quiet dinner is a minimum and a half hour, two hours.

9 p.m.: Cinema evening
After that, I go to AMC Atlantic Times Square To see a movie. It's in a shopping center with a giant Daiso, So, while I'm there, I'm going to Daiso for things I need at home and few funny things. Daiso is like a store in Japanese dollars, but that does not do him justice. You can get everything you need, and everything is very cute. Daiso is the place where I receive the sweet and the test Hi-chews that I sneak in the movies.
And then when I wait for my film to start, I go to the other side of the street to Huge treewhich is a Taiwanese place, for a small snack. And then I also go down the street Half and half For bubble tea. I like to get their Kumquat tea, because I like it not super sweet. I receive boba grass and aloe vera grass, 50% sweet and regular ice. I love all the little soft things in there.

11:30 p.m.: The rotten sofa before bed
After getting home, I am rotting on Tiktok for an hour like my deadlines. Sometimes, by a good day, I will read a little before bed, but it's so much more fun to do Tiktok. Recently, I really went to look at this person who finds furniture in the street and renovate it. Or Nate the Sabot guy, who cleans cow and horses hooves. It could be good for my nervous system actually, because I look at Asmr.
