When Pillsbury started working on his second album, after his first feature film in 2022 “RX”, he was not sure of the sound management in which he was heading. “RX” was a pop-La-Pop Ménagery of sensationalized sexual words and love melodies. His previous EPS (“Arizona in summer”, “Oh, how perfect” and “Our Little Angel”) invaded the line of melancholic chamber pop and bad mood rap. So, for his second album, he continued to test waters with different influences such as the Synth-Pop of the 80s and electronic music. But nothing stuck.

“It is difficult to write to S -. I can't do it. I tried and listening, you didn't believe you,” said Pillsbury. “Then, I just started playing the acoustic guitar in my living room and trying to write songs as I did, at the time. It was much more comfortable, credible and raw.”

While sitting on his sofa, fatty an instrument newly learned and determining what he meant, he was transported to be a student at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. From the sweet guitar scraper of “Frances”, a track where he tries to understand where he turned badly, to the self-depreciation “Scumbag” and “something, in a way, a day” where he still poses that they “are supposed to be”. But Pillsbury promises that the feeling is not translated into its live shows. He says he is good to separate the trauma from what he was going through when writing his song from his performance on stage – where everything he can think is to try not to forget his words.

“When I look at people in the crowd, I don't think about my past. I’m not trying to relive this on stage in front of people. I just don't want to see a bunch of people cry. I prefer to raise people, ”said Pillsbury. “So I try to do things with a smile to lighten the atmosphere. This is probably why I am kidding between each song. Comic relief.”
