I have never been, never good to stay motionless. To throw and turn my sleep to the implementation of my meditation application at a maximum of three minutes, Wiggling is part of who I am (to the chagrin of all those with whom I have shared a bed, I am sure).
As I grew up, my constant need to do something has passed not to be able to stay in the same place during the Storyme to need a distractions. I can't journal without listening to music, writing without connecting to a podcast or watching a film without my art supplies. I think it is because I am afraid of what will happen when I finally settle all the noise – the thoughts that I could think, the feelings that I feel, etc., etc., etc., etc. It makes sense, right?
In all honesty, I am the last person who should give advice on tranquility. Between my full-time job and numerous independent beloved concerts, I regularly overwork. I am terrible to relax and I often find myself spending the tiny moments of downtime that I allocated to myself deeply in the vortex of Tiktok until I realize, wow, It's sleeping. I vanished without thinking a lot about nothing, then I wake up and I start again.
I can't journal without listening to music, writing without connecting to a podcast or watching a film without my art supplies. I think it's because I'm afraid of what will happen when I finally settle all the noise.
Nevertheless, I know what I should do. The problem, as always, acts on it. That's why we're going to start little ones.
Remategality – in the sense that I refer to, at least – does not necessarily mean the lack of movement. If you are uncomfortable in a certain position, you are allowed to stir until everything is right. In addition, it is not even a question of finding comfort or acceptance to hear your own thoughts or live in your own body. Sometimes it doesn't feel good, and it's okay. It's a conversation for another time.
For the moment, the objective is to find some of the micro-moles of immobility that can (hopefully!) Help live in the exact space in which we are at the moment. Or, more succinctly, some moments when we can be just. Sometimes it means feeling difficult things and thinking about difficult thoughts, and sometimes it means closing your eyes and enjoying fresh air. Anyway, let's be here now. (I thought I came with this sentence for a second, but it is definitely Ram Dass /Mason Jennings run in my head. Go on.)
