The fate of Kilmar Abrego Garcia shows that anyone can be `disappeared ''

To the editor: As a merchants, we should all be indignant by the simulated helplessness of President Trump by not having organized the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia of the prison of El Salvador where he is wrongly imprisoned (“The president of Salvador says that he will not turn the man wrongly expelled from us,»April 14). This uncontrolled power increases the fear that our government can disappear anyone who will move it in any way.

To the publisher: Trump's assertion that he does not have the power to force a sovereign country to return the deportive to wrongly Abrego Garcia in the United States is absurd. All Trump would have to do is threaten to refuse our foreign aid, and Abrego Garcia is said to be on a plane for the United States in a few hours.

To the editor: There is no doubt that President Salvadoran Nayib Bukele would make Abrego Garcia if Trump asked. But then the President of the United States should admit that he and his administration made a mistake. It is clear that it is too much to ask, so Abrego Garcia is left in an impossible situation. It would have been so simple to say: “My bad” and to bring the man back home, but our cruel and depraved president is not capable of such behavior.

To the editor: It's sad because the resolution of this injustice was right in front of everyone. President Bukele, welcome to your new temporary house, the oval office.

Joe Kevany, Mount Washington

..

To the editor: The government should at the very least support the family of this man for the rest of his life. The money will not compensate for the loss of a husband and a father, but that will help their life situation. Money is the only language that Trump understands.

To the editor: Sixty-five years ago, when I was 13, my father told me to always get up when you shake the hand of another man. It has always been the first business rule. Maybe these leaders advisers need to have a label recycling course?

Scott Snyder, Orange County

..

To the editor: Am I the only horrified by the use by the administration of this Orwellian euphemism, “administrative error”, to describe the kidnapping and imprisonment in a foreign gulag? I can understand that this was happening in the former Soviet Union, Nazi Germany or China today or in North Korea. But here in America? The country with the Constitution and the Declaration of Rights? It can't happen here, right?
