Golf was reintroduced to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, after more than 100 years of the Games. The 1904 matches in St. Louis, Missouri, were the last time that a team golf competition was included.
“We are absolutely delighted to see a mixed team event added to the Los Angeles 2028 program,” said Antony Scanlon, Director General of IGF statement.
“Golf has incredibly succeeded in Paris 2024, and while we continue to take into account the momentum of Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, we are delighted to pay even more attention to our sport thanks to this additional format.

“The athletes were very enthusiastic about their desire to play with their compatriots, and we look forward to watching them compete together in Los Angeles.”
The International Olympic Committee (CIO) published The full program for the 2028 games last week.
The new golf tournament is one of the six mixed events added to the list, joining Way and field (4x100m mixed relay), Archery, beach sprint rowing, gymnastics and table tennis.
