The American Welter weight Jaron Ennis unified the titles of the IBF and WBA world with a technical knock-out of sixth round of Eimantas Stanionis from Lithuania to Atlantic City.
Ennis, 27, won the IBF title in November 2023 and saw the WBA champion Stanionis to maintain his unbeaten record with a 34th victory.
Stanionis, 30, had held the Welter Wba weight crown since 2022 and won all of his 15 previous professional combinations, but failed to go out for the seventh lap after having undergone a series of wild bodies in the sixth.
“What is crazy is that I had a dream that I was going to stop it like that, and it came reality,” said Ennis after finishing the third defense of his IBF title.
