The artistic director David Hallberg was renewed in his functions of five years until the end of 2030. Originally appointed in January 2021, the prolonged contract of Hallberg will guarantee the consolidation and growth of its artistic impact.
Hallberg said: “My stay at the Australian ballet was incredibly enriching, and I am honored to direct the company until 2030. Bringing classic and contemporary works to stations in the country, we created world first specifically for the Australian ballet, while adopting new creative possibilities and continuing to define what an arts organization is today.”
“I can't wait to continue to interact with the Australian public faithful, to present the company worldwide, to develop the artistic talent of our dancers and to rely on the remarkable heritage of the company.”
