Meet the oldest hairdresser in the world. A 108 -year -old Japanese woman is delighted with recognition

Tokyo (AP) – Meet the oldest hairstyle woman in the world: she is 108 years old but the thin Japanese woman with white hair does not intend to retire anytime.

Shitsui Hakoishi says that the official recognition of Guinness World Records this week has brought him a lot of joy-apart from his satisfied customers, that is to say.

On Wednesday, she received an official certificate from the international franchise. Guinness World Records has a distinct category for male barbers, but the man who was certified at 107 years in 2018, Anthony Mancinelli in the United States, died in the meantime, leaving Hakoishi as the only holder of the file.

Her career has lasted nine decades and she says she owes her customers everything.

“I could only come if because of my clients,” said Hakoishi to a television press conference on Wednesday in a gymnasium in his hometown of Nakagawa in the prefecture of Tochigi, northeast of Tokyo. “I am exceeded and filled with joy.”

Born November 10, 1916, from a family of farmers in Nakagawa, Hakoishi decided to become a hairdresser at 14 and moved to Tokyo, where she first perfected her job as an apprentices.

She obtained her hairdresser license at 20 and opened a show with her husband. They had two children before being killed in the Japanese China war which broke out in 1937.

Hakoishi lost his living room in the mortal of March 10, 1945 US Firebombing from Tokyo. Before that, she and her children were evacuated elsewhere in the prefecture of Tochigi, according to the Guinness website.

It took him eight years before opening a show, calling him Rihatsu Hakoishi, in his hometown of Nakagawa. Rihatsu is Japanese for the hairdresser.

She says she is not ready to put her scissors to put away.

“I am 109 years old this year, so I will continue until I reach 110,” she said with a smile with confidence.
