I suffer from a serious case of Wanderlust. Always have, always.
In my eyes, there is nothing like booking a weekend somewhere, seeing the reservation confirmation appear in your email and counting the days until you arrive at their destination.
Although the pandemic has certainly made a number of us on us, Wanderlust-Ors, which continues to make a number on us, is the real packaging for Undit Weekend. Anxiety that has undoubtedly just tried to understand what to pack (and how to adapt everything) can certainly alleviate the excitation of pre-generation of anyone.
I understand you. The packaging can be tedious and stressful (who knew that these two words could really go together?). But from my point of view, it doesn't really need to be so bad.
With my five best packaging tips, you will learn to pack in a way that increases your travel experience – does not aggravate it.
(The author's note: for all intention of this article, I will give advice on how to wrap with just hand baggage for a weekend. My favorite hand baggage? This one from there.)
Tip n ° 1 Plan your days (and your outfits)
When storage your weekend packaging list, always wrap by outfits, not by individual items. It may seem counter-intuitive, but that makes a difference.
And if you know your route in advance, it makes it even easier to pack. Way on a Saturday and visit the best evening cocktail bar? Done and done. In fact, I often visualize planned activities to help me understand what I should wear. I also prefer clothes that can do several tasks, which means they can be dressed or at the bottom.
I particularly like the Ganni Midi skirts, which can be worn with sneakers And a T-shirt during the day and in the evening with tights and a light sweater.
PS I also found that bringing it additional underwear and socks never hurts – they take up very little space and you never know if you will need it.
Tip n ° 2 Roll your clothes
There was a time when I secretly thought that these people who rolled their clothes were just lazy and could not be disturbed to fold. ON THE CONTRARY! They were actually geniuses. All my apologies for having made a judgment.
Really, I'm always surprised by the amount of space I stay in my hand luggage when I roll my clothes. This is actually one of the best ways to also prevent folds (more about this in the next tip).
My favorite rolling method? Placed the face to face, folding the sleeves and rolling from bottom to top. For the pants, I gathered my legs and roll the waist down. Very easy.
Tip n ° 3 Bring a travel steam boat
The friends of my friends laughed at me for bringing one but I tell you, a travel steam boat should be your new best friend – if not already the case.
I hate going back with passion and swearing by steam. It is a great way to refresh your clothes and take out these annoying folds which, sometimes, simply cannot attack. In addition, this little “inflated” sound made by the steam boat is strangely satisfactory and they are generally very easy to pack.
All you need is water and here – you have without wrinkles that are just waiting to be worn.
Tip n ° 4 Use these beauty samples
I definitely have a type A personality but yes, I have one thing –beauty samples.
In fact, I have an entire box dedicated to them, organized by their mission (cleaning, toning, exfoliant, etc.). Whenever I put on weekends, I open this box and I see what samples I want to take with me this time.
Not only are they suitable for the TSA, but they don't take up space either in my hand luggage. Now it's a thing of beauty.
Tip n ° 5 wear your largest flight items in the flight
If you are heading in a cooler place, instead of putting your coat inside your hand luggage and let it take a precious space and weight, carry it on the plane.
Unless they have strict rules against this, you can usually put it in the trash (I tend to put it just above my hand luggage if there is enough space). The same goes for shoes. If it's colder and want to bring boots, take these babies on the plane.
Of course, there is much to consider when determining your next trip, but one thing is certain – you have excited exactly what you need to enjoy the weekend.
