Jakarta: Indonesia approved local certificates for more than a dozen Apple products on Friday (March 7), said the Ministry of Industry in the prohibition Raised on iPhone sales in the greatest economy in Southeast Asia.
Apple concluded an agreement with Indonesia last month to invest in the country of 280 million after months of blocking on Tech Titan's failure to respect the regulations requiring that phones be built with at least 40% of components made locally.
“We have issued local content certificates for 20 Apple products,” said spokesman for the Ministry of Industry, Febri Hendri Antoni Arief, in a statement.
He did not specify the certified products, but the local media said that they understood the latest iPhone 16 model.
Apple must now obtain a series of certificates and approvals from various ministries, according to the press release.
